Sewing for a cause
Every Wednsday we offer a free class that we like to call "Sewing for a Cause" from 10am to 3pm. In this class you learn how to quilt, or more so the concept and idea of piecing a quilt. The supplies are free and the machines are provided. You can choose to make an easy childrens sized quilt for the Red River Quilters (A Shreveport/Bossier quilt club) "Love Wrappers" or an easy adult size quilt to donate to the local VA for the Veterans. The idea is to get people interested in sewing and quilting while giving back to the Shreveport community.
Ya'll..... I can't even begin to tell you how sweet and giving this man "Mr.Herb" is. All he wants to do in life is teach people how to sew and give to his community. He is one of the most patient people we have ever met and extremely knowledgeable when it comes to sewing. Literally every room in his house is a sewing room! (Any quilters/sewers dream) He has made several hundred quilts for donation and plans to make many more. Therefore, if you have any fabric you would like to donate for the cause feel free to send it to the shop 1267 shreveport barksdale hwy, shreveport la 71105 and we will make sure it gets into the right hands!!!
